Fogging can also be used to neutralise and remove strong odours caused by smoke or other contaminants, such as mould, pets, cooking, or chemicals. The fogging machine releases a fine mist of disinfectant agent into the air from where it will eventually drift down and cover various surfaces such as carpets, upholstery, drapes, walls, and ceilings, making fogging particularly effective method for deep cleaning.

How Fogging Works in Smoke and Odour Removal

Our fogging machine generates a fine mist of deodorising agents, which are dispersed into the air and covers all surfaces
Because the fog is made up of tiny particles it can penetrate deep into materials like fabric, wood, and drywall, where smoke particles and odour molecules tend to settle
The fogging agent works by chemically neutralising the smoke and odour molecules, breaking them down so that they can no longer produce the unpleasant smell
Fogging also purifies the air by targeting airborne smoke particles

Fogging Application

Preliminary Cleaning – Before fogging, any visible soot, debris, or contaminants should be cleaned from the area. This includes vacuuming carpets, wiping down surfaces, and removing any debris left from smoke or fire damage.

Ventilation Control – The area to be fogged should be sealed as much as possible to contain the fogging mist and ensure it penetrates all surfaces effectively.

Fogging Application – The mist is dispersed throughout the space allowing the fine particles to settle into every corner, including hard-to-reach areas like cracks, crevices and vents. The process can take anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours.

Ventilation – The area is left to rest for a specified time to allow the deodorising agents to settle on surfaces and neutralise odours. Proper ventilation ensures any lingering fog is clear, leaving behind a fresh, odour-free environment that is safe for re-occupancy.

Inspection and Follow-Up – The area is inspected to ensure the odour has been successfully eliminated. If any residual odours remain, additional treatments may be recommended or localized fogging may be applied to problem areas.
